Whakapapa: Te Rarawa (Ngāti Manawa), Ngāpuhi (Te Uri Taniwha, Ngāti Korohue, Ngāti Hinera), Aitutaki (Tautu)
I exist to awhi and amplify the voices and aspirations of Indigenous whānau, with a particular focus on taitamariki. Over the years I’ve been involved in the design and delivery of enterprise and hauora programmes for rangatahi. Indigenous knowledge, youth development, facilitation, programme design, human centred design, Hip hop lover, op shopper, entrepreneurship.
I don’t recall exactly when or how it happened but the mahi that I now do is guided and grounded in reciprocating the support I received as a young cat growing up in GI and being fortunate to have humans around me that believed in and encouraged me.
I love kicking it with taiohi because they see the world is such a unique and creative way. It’s our responsibility as kaimahi in the youth sector to support them to celebrate their uniqueness.
