The Touch of Christ Ministry NZ is a church community of Tuvaluans living around West Auckland. The church has been around for over 10 years and has a youth group known as the TOC Youth.
The group is interested to celebrate Youth Week this year and has planned the following activties.
It is called TOC Youth Fun Day.
It is a day of fun, where our youth group members will invite their youth friends from other communities to join them in a day of fun activities.
The program aims to empower our youths and their friends and encourage them to engage in positive ways that could help them become future leaders in our community.
It is a whole day program to be held on the Saturday 20th May 2023.
The day will start off at 6am with an indoor aerobic program. All youth members and their friend should wear traditional head garlands for the morning program.
Breakfast at 8am then followed on with some group fun activities to break the ice.
At 10am, 2 successful Tuvaluan youth motivational speakers will address the group talking about their journey from Tuvalu to NZ, the challenges they faced and how they made their way to where they are now in life. Followed by group discussions on how to be a good leader and a quiz competition.
Someone from the Fono Health Care will also deliver talks on smoking, Covid 19, Suicide.
1pm to 2pm: lunch break
2 – 5pm: a volleyball competition among teams that can be formed among the participants. The winner and runner up will receive prizes.
5-7pm: a swimming session at Stanley Point to closed off the day.
