This project will showcase our diverse rangatahi through film, sharing their talents and passions, challenges and successes. The project will likely touch on barriers that our young people face, however will be strengths based and ultimately optimistic.
The groups involved will have special celebratory screening events during Youthweek: 15th – 21st May. Events will include food, and coming together to recognize and embrace our awesome diversity.
The project will begin the beginning of April with youth groups planning their films, deciding what they want to share, where they want filming to take place, what accessibility supports they would like etc. Young people will have total autonomy over their story, editing and even whether they want to share their end product. PHAB have a team of creative youth onboard to work with us to develop this awesome project.
Following on from this, we will be sharing our films across the community, to increase the platform and reach of diverse rangatahi voices.
The project will be led by disabled youth leaders within PHAB who are currently being mentored and trained to take on paid employment roles in the social sector, or to secure more senior positions in their fields.
