Our organisation works with the local high school, through 24/7 Youthwork, providing a youth worker to work with students at the school. As part of the volunteer aspect of the role, we provide activities that help to enhance and uplift the well-being of the youth. An upcoming event planned for the 30th March is Colour Your Day, to help our young people overcome tall poppy syndrome. We have organised a range of fun activities for the Year 9/10 cohort.
For Youth Week we hope to provide five (5) activities over the week for each year group – 400 students. The activities are planned to help uplift their well-being. We are aware that not all students will choose physically active activities, and large groups can be overwhelming.
Canvasing interest from our students include activities such as Cosplay, outdoor physical activities and games, competitive inter-house games – basketball, gaming XBox & Playstation, Mandela Painting and Colouring, Scavenger Hunts and possibly something new (not student lead but something for them to try for their well-being) Meditation – such as breathing techniques or a soundbath experience, mirimiri.
