I have always had an affinity for helping people. I became a social worker to make a positive difference in the lives of many. In 2017 i completed a Bachelor Degree in Bicultural Social Work and in 2018 I completed my postgraduate diploma in Bicultural Professional Supervision. Throughout my journey of discovering myself i have naturally aided whanau (family) and others who wished to make a positive difference and change in their lives. My practise centres on helping others by creating a safe and accountable place for tangata (people) and kairuku (supervisee) to feel comfortable. My strengths are my understanding of self and whakapapa, and the ability to link people to myself speaks of my inclusivity and my heart of empathy, integrity and strength as a Wahine Maori. I am unique in this industry because my bicultural practice model is adaptable to all cultures and nationalities provided by a Te Ao Maori approach within my model of Te Manaaki o te Korowai. |
