I am Maori and can link to both the Taitokerau and Tainui tribes (iwi). I have been born and bred in South Auckland. Living in every suburd in South Auckland at sometime. I have an intimate understanding of a range of challenges within our society from domestic violence through to poverty. I have volunteered within my community as well as with St Johns. I am connected to a vast range of people who allow me to broaden my understanding of many different topics from pyschology through to Kohanga Reo. I am confident in Tikanga Maori and can converse in Te Reo although very limited. I am commited to supporting others to access their own resilience and to create their own solutions. This is my goal as I believe that each individual has the strength and knowledge to solve their own challenges. |
