Ara Taiohi

I am particularly excited to connect in with new youth workers, and love to hear from anyone who connects with my supervision Kaupapa. Supervision has shaped me as a practitioner and person and I hope to bring the benefits of a professional relationship of trust, care, curiosity, honesty and celebration to others. For 13 years I have supported taiohi through issues and youth development areas such as health, grief and loss, leadership, youth justice, care and protection, mental health, crisis, disability, creative therapies, advocacy, challenging behaviours and trauma. Experience in non profit creation and management gives me insight into the workings of NGO's. Currently I am a team leader in a care and protection org. I create learning and mastery opportunities for tamariki and taiohi around topics that allow them to make great decisions for themselves. I look forward to learning more about other youth practitioners in the motu in my formal supervision endeavours.
