Maria Panga
I have been raised and still reside within south Auckland with the support of a large whanau. I have studied indigenous bicultural social work and post-grad kaitiakitanga and currently doing my second year of Masters of Applied Indigenous Knowledge at Te Wananga O Aotearoa.I have worked in mental health and drug and alcohol rehab for males from within the community and the department of corrections.I have worked in a rehab facility for two years and also in the community of south Auckland for two years. I have helped whanau with Kaianga ora, social welfare, Oranga Tamariki, and within the court.Also, I have worked in the field of caregiving with young and old males and females that are mentally or physically disabled or with both for twenty years. I have some knowledge of working with whanau with disabilities helping to provide for their needs and everyday cares and equipment.
