Together we journey... Aotearoa's cultural models are interwoven throughout my approach to supervision. King’s (2014) KIA ORA model is a model which represents my approach to supervision. K – Kōrerorero – Discussion. This is a big part of the laying of foundations to the supervisor/supervisee relationship I - Ira Atua – Ira Tāngata - The sacred spirit in people – The honouring the mana of all living creatures is a part of my approach to all relationships. A – Ako – Reciprocity of Learning – The shared and mutual benefits of any relationship is a part of my core beliefs. O – Oranga - Wellbeing of mind, body soul and whanau. This is what my personal model of practice is based on which I bring to the supervision R – Rangatiratanga - Supervisee-led in a strengths-based approach - which is core to my practice as a Youth worker and Educator. A – Āhurutanga - Safe-space. This is negotiated by the supervisor and the supervisee as we design our contract for our working relationship |
