I am a registered social worker and member of ANZASW with a Bachelor of Social Practice from Unitec and a Post Graduate Certificate in Professional Supervision from University of Auckland.
I have extensive experience in the Not-for-Profit sector through volunteering, employment as a social worker and within management. I have spent a considerable amount of time within the youth sector and also within a faith-based community and am passionate about both.
I use a range of approaches to support people within the helping profession and recognise it very much involves working in the grey. I hold close the importance of self-care and keeping appropriate boundaries.
I keep it real and endeavour to create a space of trust where new practitioners can gain confidence and competence in their abilities and more seasoned practitioners can feel comfortable to explore and challenge their thinking. Reflective, strengths-based and solution focused approaches are woven into my practice.
