Kia orana I'm Elizabeth Samuel. As a registered social worker with over 16 years of experience, I have dedicated my career to care and protection, policy development, and engagement management within Oranga Tamariki. I also have experience in the NGO sector working closely with individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health and addictions. As a faith-based practitioner, my approach is rooted in compassion, collaboration, and a steadfast commitment to holistic wellbeing. Since 2014, I have specialized in providing professional, spiritual, and cultural supervision to social workers, fostering safe spaces where practitioners can navigate challenges and build resilience. I have specialised in developing Pacific and non-Pacific practitioners to equip them with the cultural understanding, skills and confidence to practice safety with Pacific people's ensuring the preservation of Pacific values, traditions, and identifies.
My strength-based methodology, coupled with deep cultural competence, has earned me a reputation as a trusted leader and mentor within the social work profession. I am passionate about inspiring innovation, championing culturally responsive practices, and driving meaningful change that uplifts individuals, families, and communities across Aotearoa New Zealand and beyond.
