May 16th 2023 – Auckland & May 18th – Christchurch.
During those 2 days (1 day in each city) – we will run a series of initiative/leadership activities, in a culturally safe space – the Deaf Clubs of Auckland and Christchurch.
Activities include presentations on developing leadership, and Deaf Youth advocacy. Deaf and NZSL fluent adults will run these events.
This:
– provides an opportunity for Auckland Deaf and Hard of Hearing Youth from Years 7 to 14 to participate in activities in an inclusive and safe environment.
– provides an opportunity for leadership development and team building within the Deaf Youth community.
– encourages social interactions between Ko Taku Reo students who are usually separated geographically and have minimal opportunity to socialise with their peers.
